Sponsorship
Sponsorship funds are generally used to help reduce the costs of sport, or to help your club achieve goals and objectives.
Sponsorship dollars are typically hard to secure, in particular in communities with several community clubs in the same area vying for similar dollars and services. It pays to have good documentation to trace sponsor history and contribution, with a person or sub-committee dedicated to this role with the skills and understanding of the mutual benefits of sponsorship. Club members are an important addition to the sponsorship partnership, in seeking out opportunities, and in supporting club sponsors in a variety of ways.
Sponsorship can be in the form of cash, donated goods and services or access to resources or staff of the sponsor.
It’s essential to be creative, flexible, strategic and reliable when it comes to developing sponsor relationships.
